Week 10

Spring flowers

Happy Spring! It doesn’t officially start until the 21st, but the the weather has been in the 70’s here this week, so it certainly FEELS like Spring. I usually don’t mind Winter that much, but this winter has been rather brutal so I’m glad to see it over and gone!

I’ve been a little restless this week and I think it’s because I’m wanting some changes. I’ve been wanting to get some home improvements done the last several years, but we always put off calling anyone for estimates until I’m out of the mood. This year I said, “Ok, this is the year!” But I still haven’t called anyone and I’m getting a little depressed. So I figured if maybe I start doing some spring cleaning and going through things that that might satisfy this urge I have. I decided to start with my shop. I did a lot of painting before Christmas making gifts so it’s almost a disaster out there! I’ve worked several days and have it looking pretty good now. I’m a pack-rat and I save everything that I think will be good to paint on. My shop is bulging at the seams but I haven’t been able to toss too much. I think I’m a hopeless case! (Well, you never know just when you’ll need that jar, or that can, or that piece of wood, or that………you get my drift!)

I found some dolls and books for crocheting and knitting their clothes that I even forgot that I had. I think I bought them back when we lived in the first place we lived in K. C. That’s a long time ago for anyone who doesn’t know when that was. I’m still interested in making some of them even though I don’t have any granddaughters. (Because I think that’s why I bought them back then thinking that out of three kids of my own, surely one of them would give us a granddaughter. Nope, got all grandsons–six of them! But that’s ok, cause I love little boys!)

pink and blue baby afghan

I got the UFO baby afghan done. I didn’t work on it everyday, but some of the days I worked on it longer than the 30 min. I was supposed to. It turned out really pretty. I still haven’t sewed the baby block afghan together. (Oh no, is it turning into a UFO?!?)

I’ve also done away with a couple more UFO’s. I just frogged them and will use the yarn to make something else. It was a couple of purses that I thought I would make to add to the website which is no more. I made three of them and the one I didn’t frog with be my next 30-min.-a-day project to finish. I’m only finishing this one because I already have the handles for it and I think I might use it myself.

I’m still knitting on my sweater, but I didn’t do that much on it this week. I’ve been so tired after working in the shop all day that I didn’t even feel like knitting. (Man, that’s tired for me!)

Clotilde is having a great sale on their books, so I bought a bunch of them and got them in the mail this week. Another thing I’ve been wanting to do for the last several years is to get into patchwork and quilting. (Have I mentioned this before?) Anyway, I got some great books on patchwork projects and quilting! I’ve already got some projects picked out to do if I can just get this butt in gear! books

That’s all for this week, I guess. Keep those needles clicking until next time!
