Here Come Birthdays!

By barb56

For some odd reason, most of the birthdays in our family have occurred in the months of Nov. and Dec. We’ve had three children and six grandchildren, and all but two of them are in the last two months of the year. Even one of our sons-in-law has a birthday this month. This is in addition to several others in the family that are also in these months. I guess there’s not much to do after Christmas during the coldest months of the year except to snuggle with someone special!

We’ve already celebrated one birthday with many more to follow. This is our #5 grandson. Today is his actual birthday, but they had his party a little early. They live in K. C. and we don’t. We ran up to be there for the party after I got off work and luckily, I had the next day off so we could spend the night and take our leisurely time getting back. We had a great time visiting with all the family and getting to see the boys again.

He got a great-looking cake with one of his favorite characters right on top! It was an ice cream cake and it was really great-tasting as well!

He’s “into” Batman now, so guess what he got?! TWO Batman Stealth Launch Batmobiles! Oops! (We need to communicate with everyone a little better next time.) I think Mommie was going to take him to Wal-Mart to exchange one of them so he can get something else he wants.

He played with it the rest of the evening. He had a little trouble getting the motorcycle inside each time, but with Daddy’s help (almost constantly), he enjoyed playing with it.

Little brother enjoyed the balloons more. He would jerk them down really fast and they would hit him in the face. Then he just laughed and laughed. He thought that was soooo funny!

I sure enjoy my grandsons, all six of them! I guess it was just destiny that we wouldn’t have granddaughters. I wouldn’t trade any of the grandsons for one, though. I love ‘em!

Next birthday is Daughter #1 on Sunday. I read on her blog that the family will be out of town this weekend. I’m not sure when we’ll see each other to wish her a Happy B-day. Hey, maybe she’ll go out to lunch with her Dad and me on Monday! How ’bout it ”K K”?
