Craftfair Weekend

Look what I’ve been doing since I got back from our craft trip to Ark.

I had signed up to be in a craft fair at one of our local churches which happened to be held this weekend. So for two and a half weeks after I got back from Ark., I’ve spent all my free time in my little shop out back painting. Boy, how much fun I’ve had! As you can see, I got quite a few items painted.  I still can’t believe I was able to get all of this done. The most time-consuming part was getting everything base-coated and then letting it “season” before I could draw my designs on them and finally get to paint them. After I was ready to paint the design, however, the real fun began. I went from one item to another painting on one, then letting it dry while I painted on another. When I get through painting, I have all of them done! I LOVE doing that! I feel like I’ve accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.

Here’s how my booth looked after I got it all set up:

Pretty nifty, huh? I had to man the booth all by myself both days of the fair because hubby was feeling under the weather and didn’t feel like sitting here all day. He did help me take it all, get it moved in, and help set it up, though. I appreciated that, knowing he didn’t feel that well.

Here’s a couple more shots of my booth. I got several comments from other vendors as well as customers on how nice my booth looked.

I sold four of the painted items from the ones in the first pic. I sold one of the cookie sheets with the gingerbread men on it, the picture of the house that says “All hearts come home for Christmas”, the little blocks that spell out ”snow”, and the black jar votive holder with a little house and big pumpkins painted on the front.  I’m kind of glad I didn’t sell some of the other items, because I’ve already got people in mind that will be getting a few of them for Christmas gifts.

I sold so many things that I actually had empty boxes to bring back home! I made a little money, got rid of some of this junk er.. merchandise, and had a lot of fun.

The ladies of the church had all kinds of soups, baked goods, pies, etc., so I sure didn’t want for something to eat. I made several trips to the kitchen and I ate way too much but it was all sooooo good! I visited with other vendors, customers and the ladies of the church. Everyone was so friendly, it was truly a fun time.  Of course I had to make the rounds to see what all the other vendors brought to sell and wound up buying several things. It was a fun weekend and I’ve already signed up to be in their fair again next year.
